A 1960s Chanel Dress, Reimagined

This delicate deep ivory button began its life in the 1960s as a front fastening detail on a black mini dress by Chanel. Even then, it was never just a functional fastening. It was designed to be seen. With its striking ivory enamel, raised textured surface, and silver double C lettering, it carried the unmistakable refinement of the house during one of its most elegant decades.

Now permanently set in solid sterling silver, this original Chanel button has been transformed into a refined charm bracelet, preserving its history while giving it a new chapter on the wrist.

A Match That Was Meant To Be

I’ve never really been a lover of stark white, it just doesn’t suit my skin tone, but that all changes with a deep ivory or a cream.  To me these shades are more feminine.  I have had these incredible natural coloured agate beads for nearly 20 years.  I bought three stands of them at the time and these are some of the last strand I still have.  When I saw the colour of this button, my mind immediately went to these agate beads and I knew they’d look sensational together!  I was so excited to create this piece and I’m over the moon with how it’s come together.

This bracelet is strung on a durable stretch nylon bead cord, designed to fit most adult wrist sizes. Simply slide it on and off. No complicated clasps. No fuss. Just understated elegance.

It is the kind of piece that feels complete the moment you put it on. I can easily imagine it worn with a denim dress a tailored jacket, or simply paired with a touch of Chanel No. 5 before stepping out the door. It is timeless, refined, and simply iconic.

*Please note, this button has some signs of its age, with what I like to call “love marks”.  They don’t detract from the sheer beauty of the button, they’re simply a reminder of its former life.  I have purposely photographed these marks for full disclosure.

Each button is carefully tested and securely set, but as these treasures can be well over a century old, they remain delicate and should be treated with the same care as any fine antique.

While the jewellery itself is professionally handcrafted from solid precious metals using traditional goldsmith techniques, designed to last a lifetime, the historic buttons, pearls, and crystals within these designs are inherently more fragile. Their age and patina are what make them so special.
To preserve your piece, please avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfume, or impact. Treat it gently, and it will bring you many years of beauty and admiration.

As each piece is entirely handmade and one of a kind, I’m unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or replacements for changes of mind, or for age related wear such as button cracking, crystal or pearl loss, or plating lift that may occur over time.
