Dramatic Black, Gold and Silver! That’s what this Vintage Chanel Button ring will bring to your hand… Drama!
This Vintage Chanel Button dates back to the late 1950’s and was originally worn on a Chanel fit and flare dress with a slim waistband belt. The dress was buttoned down to the waist with a boat neckline & this is one of those buttons. Amazing right. I was sorry I couldn’t find out what colour the dress was, but I would like to think it was black, but I guess that’s something we’ll never know.
This is yet another button from my lovely supplier in Paris. Her Mother’s button collection is incredibly extensive and very, very well documented and organised. We are all so fortunate to have the ability to keep these vintage buttons alive.
This button said it wanted to be part of something big and bold, so I hand crafted the solid sterling silver setting, with some tiny silver ball embellishments. I’ve also added a solid, heavy half circle of sterling silver to create this asymmetrical look. To really complete the look, I have hand blackened the low spots and finished with a very high polish on the high spots. It has certainly made this ring, big, bold and definitely eye catching!
If you are the fan of matching jewellery sets, then you really must take a look at the “Claire” bracelet, which features this same button, at the heart of it’s design.
This ring has been crafted to fit a size O (AUS, UK) or 7 1/4 (USA, CAN)
