These buttons started their lives on a controversial Chanel linen skirt suit from 1969.
What made it so controversial? Well traditionally the Chanel “tweed” suit was made in tweed, but this collection, first launched in December 1969 and hitting the catwalks soon after, left those in the industry wanting more.
This was the first time Coco Chanel had dared to change her “ladies suit” formula and move away for her iconic tweed set.
She had used linen in the past, but only for blouses and trousers. She’d never had such a dramatic move in her skirt/suit designs. These linen suits were made using soft pastels to retain that feminine look she had become so famous for.
These buttons aren’t perfect. They do have some small signs of their past life, but I don’t feel it’s enough to detract from how pretty and feminine they are.
They’re on the larger side, so they’ll certainly make an impact. You’ll have complete strangers stopping you to know more about your fabulous earrings.
If you do tend to wear more gold tone jewellery, then these will work so well for you, as gold tone is the dominant theme here. They have been hand crafted in a solid sterling silver rub over setting, with small small beads on the ear wire hook to add a little interest. Team that with the pastel pink and you simply can’t lose.

Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing. These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals. I never take my jewellery off. However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look.
