White Chanel Paris Button Earrings. A Whisper of Elegance, A Shout of Change
Venice in the Roaring Twenties
The Great War had ended, and Europe’s cultural heart was beating again. Brighter, bolder, and hungry for reinvention. Women still moved through the world bound by the long skirts of tradition, their movements restricted and dictated by convention. In Venice, with its labyrinth of canals, gondolas were the lifeblood of daily travel, but for women, climbing in and out was an awkward dance of fabric and formality.
Chanel Challenges Convention
Coco Chanel, travelling through Venice, saw it differently. She saw possibility. Why shouldn’t a woman move with the same ease and elegance as a man? Her answer came in the form of a groundbreaking creation… tailored trousers for women. Refined, stylish, and designed for both beauty and freedom. It was a concept that turned heads and raised eyebrows. Wearing them was an act of courage, a quiet rebellion that signalled a shift in what it meant to be a woman.
From Pocket to Earrings
The buttons from these trousers became an emblem of this transformation, a mark of confidence and modernity. Today, they live on in these white enamel Chanel Paris earrings, their purity of colour contrasting perfectly with the luxurious 24ct yellow gold vermeil over solid sterling silver.
Effortlessly Wearable
Light, fresh, and endlessly versatile, these earrings carry the spirit of those early trailblazers. The women who dared to take a seat in the gondola without holding back their stride.
Your jewellery journey begins with a piece of Porsha Bella’s wearable fashion history.

What is 24ct Yellow Gold Vermeil?
Gold vermeil is a layer of real gold over solid sterling silver. To be called vermeil, the gold must be at least 10ct and plated at a certain thickness. At Porsha Bella Jewellery, I use 24ct yellow gold, the purest, richest toned gold, for a luxurious finish that’s both elegant and enduring.
Caring for Your Gold Vermeil Jewellery
Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 24ct gold over sterling silver. Luxurious, but delicate. To keep it looking beautiful:
-
Avoid water, sweat, perfumes, and lotions.
-
Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising.
-
Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth, no harsh cleaners.
-
Store pieces separately in a dry, cool place.
Over time, gentle fading is natural. It adds character, but re-plating is always an option if you’d like a refresh.
*Please note, the buttons used in all of my creations are second hand, antique or vintage, therefore they will show signs of their previous lives. Some scratches, tiny dents, some enamel wear and even tarnishing. I cannot guarantee the quality or longevity of these buttons. In some cases there can be colour variations, and plating lift during the polishing process, this is unavoidable. I’m unable to refund or replace buttons that break or crack. Although I do put every button through rigorous testing to do my best to ensure their longevity. *Disclaimer… I’m not able to guarantee the longevity of any buttons that have crystals or pearls used.
Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing. These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals. I never take my jewellery off. However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look. If you treat your Porsha Bella creation, like the treasure of history it is, you should have an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time. If you have any concerns about how to care for this piece, then please reach out to me and I can help you with tips on getting a long and happy wear life out of it.
