Bold, weighty, and beautifully made. This chunky solid sterling silver paperclip bracelet is a statement piece with substance. Each large, elegant link has been individually formed and hard silver soldered closed, ensuring not only strength and longevity, but also showcasing the kind of craftsmanship that sets true quality apart. This bracelet is built to last a lifetime and designed to be worn and loved every day.
The star of the piece is an authentic vintage Louis Vuitton handbag tag, circa 1990, repurposed into a striking charm. With its vivid bright pink enamel, it adds a joyful pop of colour, a nod to springtime in France, when blossom lined boulevards burst with colour and the cafés spill back into life. The charm is double-sided, which is reason I think it makes such a great bracelet charm.
Of course, Louis Vuitton needs little introduction. Established in 1854 in Paris, the brand is world renowned for crafting high end luggage, handbags, wallets, and satchels. A lesser-known fact: in 1925, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel commissioned a custom Louis Vuitton handbag. The piece was so admired that, by the 1930s, it was released to the public, marking the brand’s evolution into smaller luxury leather goods and forever linking two iconic French fashion houses.
Another little gem of heritage: Louis Vuitton still operates from its original factory founded in 1854. The Vuitton family home next door has since become a private museum, while the atelier continues to produce some of the world’s most coveted fashion pieces.
Back in my French jewellery workshop, this historical handbag tag has been reborn using traditional goldsmith techniques. As with all Porsha Bella Jewellery, both the charm setting and clasp are solid sterling silver, and every detail has been lovingly handcrafted. This bracelet isn’t just beautiful, it’s genuine French made jewellery, created slowly and meaningfully in the heart of the French countryside.
This piece is also part of a growing movement, “buy less new, buy upcycled.” In a world waking up to the impact of overconsumption, this bracelet offers a more conscious choice. It’s made from recycled sterling silver and repurposed luxury components, crafted with care by a small independent business. You’re not just making a sustainable choice, you’re choosing timeless style and lasting quality, with a story you’ll be proud to wear.
