Just imagine how incredible it will feel to wear a button that once adorned the uniform of a young Italian soldier during World War I. This antique military button carries with it more than a century of stories….of bravery, loss, resilience, and hope. To hold it, let alone wear it, is to touch a fragment of living history.

The Details That Tell Its Story

Dating back to the early 1900s, this genuine antique button is in remarkable condition for its age. The black enamel front shows only the faintest marks, gentle reminders of its journey through time, while the gold crown remains bright and proud. Because the back of the button was fragile after more than 100 years, I chose to encase it fully in solid recycled sterling silver (925) to protect and preserve it for generations to come.

Handcrafted with Character

The button is set in a low, plain bezel with a lightly textured base that complements its vintage character. I hand hammered the oval front to create a soft, time worn texture.   A finish that feels authentic to its story rather than overly polished or new. The back has been satin finished for a subtle contrast, and the wide 10mm band ensures comfort and presence on the hand.

Sustainable Craftsmanship

As always, this ring is a one of a kind creation, handcrafted using traditional goldsmith techniques in my French Alps workshop. I use recycled solid sterling silver, ensuring the same beauty and value as new silver while helping reduce the impact on our environment.

Please note, all buttons used in my creations are antique, vintage, or second hand, and will naturally show signs of their previous lives.  Such as gentle surface marks, tiny dents, enamel wear, or soft tarnishing.
Each button is carefully tested and securely set, but as these treasures can be well over a century old, they remain delicate and should be treated with the same care as any fine antique.

While the jewellery itself is professionally handcrafted from solid precious metals using traditional goldsmith techniques, designed to last a lifetime, the historic buttons, pearls, and crystals within these designs are inherently more fragile. Their age and patina are what make them so special.
To preserve your piece, please avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfume, or impact. Treat it gently, and it will bring you many years of beauty and admiration.

As each piece is entirely handmade and one of a kind, I’m unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or replacements for changes of mind, or for age related wear such as button cracking, crystal or pearl loss, or plating lift that may occur over time.
