A Gentleman’s World, Reimagined

Originally created during the reign of Queen Victoria, these exquisite buttons once belonged to a very different world… one of early morning rides, polished boots, and the rhythmic sound of hooves across the countryside.  Believed to be from 1860-1870.

They would have adorned the coat of a gentleman rider, part of a society where horses were not simply animals, but a way of life.

And yet, here they are now… reimagined.  Of course the signature of Porsha Bella Jewellery is to have that incredible little porthole in the back on the setting, which shows you that these are in fact buttons, but you also can see the “made in England” embossed into the brass back of the button.  It’s such a lovely detail that preserves the value of such rare buttons.

Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing.  These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals.  I never take my jewellery off.  However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look.  If you treat your Porsha Bella creation, like the treasure of history it is, you should have an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time.  If you have any concerns about how to care for this piece, then please reach out to me and I can help you with tips on getting a long and happy wear life out of it.
