“Nala” Vintage Chanel Gold Crystal Pendant

As I’ve mentioned before, I have two reliable sources for my vintage designer buttons, tags and zipper pulls.  These arrived from the Parisian gentleman who has an incredibly extensive collection of all things designer.  Some items are not for sale, but he often sends me emails with different things he thinks I might be interested in.

He showed me this and said it’s from the 1980’s and was originally a Chanel brooch, but somewhere along the line, the brooch pin had been broken.  He had 3 available. Let me tell you, it didn’t take me too long to grab them, as I knew exactly what I could create with them.

When I first receive these precious pieces, I feel so sad looking at how they’ve deteriorated, but then that sadness turns into such joy when I’m able to restore their original beauty.  It’s the ultimate transformation.

I’ve hand crafted the pendant setting, using traditional Goldsmith techniques and solid sterling silver.  I decided to craft the bail in a delicate patterned brass, so as to tie into the gold tone of the zipper pull.  This gives you the flexibility of adding the pendant to your gold or silver chains. I can really see this adding the perfect touch to your LBD,  jeans and a sweater or jacket.  Perfect to show off your love of Chanel.  How cool to be able to tell anyone that admires your pendant, that it was in fact, a vintage Chanel brooch.

Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing.  These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals.  I never take my jewellery off.  However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look.  If you treat your Porsha Bella creation, like the treasure of history it is, you should have an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time.  If you have any concerns about how to care for this piece, then please reach out to me and I can help you with tips on getting a long and happy wear life out of it.
