I bought this button from an older French man. I have a set of 8. He told me they were from his Fathers military coat that was government issued. The buttons date back to the 1st World War (1914). I can only imagine the “life” these buttons have had.
This French Antique Military button has been bezel set in solid Sterling Silver. The shank/band is also formed in a heavy solid sterling silver comfort or half round. This ring is not for the faint hearted. It is bold and statement making. It’s heavy and it commands attention.
I have purposely crafted the reverse side of the bezel setting to be open to show off the original button makers marque.
The button itself is in good condition & only has slight signs of wear in the gold tone plating, which is amazing considering it is over 100 years old!
