Vintage Chanel Button, Couture Origins
This striking vintage 1960s Chanel quilted pewter toned button began its life as the fastening on the waistband of a Chanel micro mini dress. The dress had a built in belt and this button was the small but decisive detail that cinched the waist, likely against black fabric, creating a discreet, couture focal point. Take a moment to soak in the button’s three dimensional quilted pattern and the subtle interlocking double C that appears almost shyly at its centre.
Set in a Hand Crafted Sterling Silver Setting
Every part of this piece has been hand forged using traditional Goldsmithing methods. The kind of work that’s slowly disappearing in a world of CAD design, 3D printing, and machine perfect precision. There’s something soul stirring about shaping metal with your own hands; about seeing the small, honest marks that prove a human made it. Those subtle irregularities are where the beauty lives, they’re what give the silver its character, its warmth, its life.
I have mounted the original button into a hand crafted sterling silver setting that complements its quilted texture. The frame around the bezel setting, echoes the button’s domed motifs and textured rim with small, matching domes at the corners…. an intentional dialogue between vintage design and honest, contemporary Goldsmithing. This piece is made from precious metal, sterling silver and every element has been formed and finished by hand using traditional techniques.
True Goldsmith Craftsmanship, Chain Made Link by Link
The chain is a solid, hand formed sterling silver link chain. Hours disappear in the making of it. There’s no machine that can replicate the rhythm of a craftswoman at the bench. I hand form each link, assemble the chain link by link, then hard silver solder every connection closed. After soldering I file and buff away excess solder and finally hand polish each link. This is many hours of focused work: forming, soldering, cleaning and finishing. Because each link is made thick and substantial there’s a reassuring weight to the chain. Let’s say there’s nothing dainty or delicate about it. The result is a durable, long lasting chain that feels substantial in the hand and on the neck.
Practical Versatility, The Carabiner Attachment
The button pendant is attached with a sterling silver carabiner. That means you can wear the chain on its own, or add another of your pendants to this chain, or clip the button onto another chain, or pair it with beads, pearls or other favourites in your collection. I designed it this way so you have choices. Wear it to suit your mood or the occasion.

Important Information
Please note, all buttons used in my creations are antique, vintage, or second hand, and will naturally show signs of their previous lives. Such as gentle surface marks, tiny dents, enamel wear, or soft tarnishing.
Each button is carefully tested and securely set, but as these treasures can be well over a century old, they remain delicate and should be treated with the same care as any fine antique.
While the jewellery itself is professionally handcrafted from solid precious metals using traditional goldsmith techniques, designed to last a lifetime, the historic buttons, pearls, and crystals within these designs are inherently more fragile. Their age and patina are what make them so special.
To preserve your piece, please avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfume, or impact. Treat it gently, and it will bring you many years of beauty and admiration.
As each piece is entirely handmade and one of a kind, I’m unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or replacements for changes of mind, or for age related wear such as button cracking, crystal or pearl loss, or plating lift that may occur over time.
If you ever have concerns about caring for your jewellery, please don’t hesitate to contact me for personalised advice.

I take great care to ensure all branded buttons are genuine and sourced from reputable second hand suppliers & fashion historians.
