“Anais” Chanel Vintage Gold Rope Button Earrings

These earrings began life as buttons from a Chanel twin set dating back to the late 1940s, a time when Gabrielle Chanel was redefining modern femininity. The twin set became one of the most recognisable and beloved signatures of the house, worn by women who understood that true style lies in refinement rather than excess.

The Iconic Rope Motif

This beautifully textured, rope like design is deeply woven into Chanel’s visual language. It speaks of maritime influence, Parisian ease, and enduring elegance. So iconic is this motif that it was reintroduced decades later in the early 2000s, yet these are the originals, carrying with them the authenticity and soul that can never be recreated.

To own a piece from an original Chanel twin set is exceptionally rare. These buttons were never intended to be jewellery, which makes their transformation all the more special. They have lived a previous life on couture knitwear, chosen by a woman who valued craftsmanship and understated luxury.

Now reworked into earrings, with perfectly hand crafted settings in solid sterling silver and a lovely balance shepherds hook for the pierced ear, they drop beautifully below the ear, catching the light with every movement. You’ll notice in the images, that one image shows the back of the earring, with that little Porsha Bella signature of the porthole that shows you the original button hook.  Keeping the buttons in their original condition, not only helps maintain they’re value, but it’s also a lovely secret reminder of exactly where your new earrings came from.

Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing.  These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals.  I never take my jewellery off.  However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look.  If you treat your Porsha Bella creation, like the treasure of history it is, you should have an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time.  If you have any concerns about how to care for this piece, then please reach out to me and I can help you with tips on getting a long and happy wear life out of it.
