Art Deco Elegance Meets Modern Statement Style
The combination of classic Art Deco design and bold, chunky silver is having a moment and this necklace captures it flawlessly.
Not only is the chain 100% handcrafted from solid Sterling Silver, but the rare French Art Deco button at its centre is a true collector’s find. It came with a hefty price tag, but for good reason, buttons like this, in such pristine condition, are incredibly hard to come by.
The Rarest Antique Art Deco Button
I’ve spent years searching for a button that perfectly represents French Art Deco and believe me, it’s not easy. Most from this era are either worn beyond repair or simply lack the bold, graphic quality that defines true Art Deco style.
Then I found this button. From the striking black and gold enamel to the flawless symmetry of its geometric design, it took my breath away. It’s a standalone beauty, the very embodiment of 1920s Parisian sophistication.
Designed With Intention and Meaning
This button deserved a truly special setting. After experimenting with several ideas, I finally landed on a design that allows the button to shine while honouring its golden detail. It’s set in a solid, recycled Sterling Silver bezel, accented by a simple gold bead around the base to draw out the richness of the button’s original tones.
I wanted this to be more than a pendant, I wanted to give you a complete piece. That’s why I handcrafted a bold bar link necklace, using the same heavy, recycled Sterling Silver. The substantial weight adds to the luxurious feel and presence.
Versatility in Design. Wear It Your Way
Thanks to the unique bail design, the button pendant can be removed, giving you the freedom to wear the chain on its own or add a different pendant to suit your mood. This adaptability means it’s not just a piece of jewellery, it becomes part of your story.
A 1920s Treasure With Contemporary Relevance
This exquisite button dates to the early 1920s, a time when Art Deco was in full swing. While the design movement first emerged in France around 1914, it wasn’t until after the First World War that it truly flourished. Historians believe the order, symmetry, and strength of Art Deco resonated with people longing for stability and hope after a period of devastation.
Interestingly, studies show that bold geometric symmetry has a calming effect on the brain. In uncertain times, like our own, perhaps Art Deco still speaks to us in the same way. It offers beauty, strength, and a quiet sense of order in a chaotic world.
A One of a Kind Handcrafted Heirloom
As with every Porsha Bella creation, this piece has been completely handcrafted using traditional goldsmith techniques. This is the only button of its kind I’ve ever found and once it’s gone, it’s truly gone.
You won’t see another like it.
The necklace is adjustable from 45cm (17.7″) to a maximum of 50cm (19.7″).
