These bold clip-on earrings have been reimagined from authentic Chanel buttons dating back to the early 1960s. Originally adorning the iconic Chanel women’s power suit, they embody the spirit of the Parisian woman who redefined femininity in fashion.  Elegant, commanding, and effortlessly chic. Imagine her walking through the cobbled streets of Paris, the golden afternoon light catching the glint of her buttons as she passed by the grand cafés and boutiques of Rue Cambon.

Luscious Gold & Subtle Contrast.

Each button is coated in a luscious layer of gold, which I’m sure would have made it stand out against the fabric.   Its hammered finish creating a unique texture that catches the light beautifully. The rich golden backdrop makes the fresh and luminous Chanel logo stand out in subtle contrast, echoing the timeless sophistication of Chanel’s designs.

Artisan Hammered Detailing.

In creating these earrings, I continued the heritage of the original design by mirroring the hammered texture along the bezel setting. This subtle continuation ensures that the earrings retain both their vintage authenticity and their handcrafted luxury.

24ct Yellow Gold Vermeil Plating.

To elevate their brilliance, I’ve finished these earrings with a generous layer of 24ct yellow gold vermeil plating. The warm, buttery glow enhances their statement presence and pays tribute to the opulence of vintage couture jewellery.

These buttons are rather large, making them perfect for a bold fashion statement. To ensure comfort without sacrificing drama, I’ve reimagined them as clip-on earrings. This not only allows them to be worn with ease throughout the day but also adds a touch of retro glamour to their already striking design.

What is 24ct Yellow Gold Vermeil?
Gold vermeil is a layer of real gold over solid sterling silver. To be called vermeil, the gold must be at least 10ct and plated at a certain thickness. At Porsha Bella Jewellery, I use 24ct yellow gold, the purest, richest toned gold, for a luxurious finish that’s both elegant and enduring.

Caring for Your Gold Vermeil Jewellery

Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 24ct gold over sterling silver.   Luxurious, but delicate. To keep it looking beautiful:

• Avoid water, sweat, perfumes, and lotions.

• Remove before showering, swimming, or exercising.

• Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth,  no harsh cleaners.

• Store pieces separately in a dry, cool place.

Over time, gentle fading is natural. It adds character, but re-plating is always an option if you’d like a refresh.

*Please note, the buttons used in all of my creations are second hand, antique or vintage, therefore they will show signs of their previous lives.  Some scratches, tiny dents, some enamel wear and even tarnishing.  I cannot guarantee the quality or longevity of these buttons.  In some cases there can be colour variations, and plating lift during the polishing process, this is unavoidable.  I’m unable to refund or replace buttons that break or crack.  Although I do put every button through rigorous testing to do my best to ensure their longevity.  *Disclaimer… I’m not able to guarantee the longevity of any buttons that have crystals or pearls used.

Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing.  These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals.  I never take my jewellery off.  However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look.  If you treat your Porsha Bella creation, like the treasure of history it is, you should have an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time.  If you have any concerns about how to care for this piece, then please reach out to me and I can help you with tips on getting a long and happy wear life out of it.
