A 1960s Chanel Dress, Reimagined

This exquisite deep navy blue button began its life in the 1960s as a front fastening detail on an ivory mini dress by Chanel. Can you imagine the contrast? That rich, intense navy against warm ivory would have been absolutely striking.

Even then, it was never simply a functional fastening. It was designed to be seen. With its beautifully textured surface, intricate detailing and unmistakable Chanel double C lettering, it carried the distinctive elegance of the house during one of its most celebrated decades.

Now permanently set in solid sterling silver, this original Chanel button has been transformed into a refined charm bracelet, preserving its history while giving it an entirely new chapter on the wrist.

A Sea of Blue

When I found the perfect beads for this button, I knew immediately that I’d stumbled upon something rather special.

These Swarovski crystals have the most fascinating colour. Depending on how the light catches their beautifully faceted surfaces, they seem to shift from the palest icy blue through to rich, deep blue. As you move your wrist, the facets catch the light from every direction, creating an almost constant sparkle.

I wanted the bracelet to feel as though the Chanel button had been surrounded by a sea of blue, with the colour flowing from soft and delicate to deep and dramatic. The result is a piece that changes subtly as you wear it, revealing something different with every movement.

I absolutely love the contrast between the deep navy of the vintage Chanel button and the shifting shades of blue in the Swarovski crystals. It feels elegant, sophisticated and just a little bit unexpected.

To preserve your piece, please avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfume, or impact. Treat it gently, and it will bring you many years of beauty and admiration.
