“Manon” Vintage Black Chanel Crystal Pearl Zipper Pendant

Once part of a Chanel bomber jacket from the 1980s

This little piece of Chanel history was once a zipper pull on a Chanel bomber jacket from the 1980s. Decades later, it has been given an entirely new life as a pendant, transformed by my hands in my French Alps atelier.

The original design is unmistakably Chanel. A black enamel centre carries the iconic interlocking CC, surrounded by a row of tiny seed pearls and crystals that catch the light beautifully. Set into sterling silver, the result has that wonderful Chanel combination of glamour and attitude.

A little piece of Chanel history

There is something rather special about wearing a piece that was once part of something else. This was not made to become jewellery. It was made to zip up a Chanel bomber jacket, lived its first life as part of a garment and has now been transformed into something you can wear for years to come.

I love that contrast. Something originally designed for a jacket has become a beautifully substantial pendant, while still retaining every bit of its original character.

Made to be worn

The pendant has a lovely weight to it and looks equally at home on a simple silver chain or layered with other necklaces. The black enamel gives it a little edge, while the pearls and crystals bring back that unmistakable Chanel femininity.

It is a piece with history, but it does not feel like a relic. It feels like jewellery.

Unlike costume jewellery, my jewellery is professionally hand crafted using traditional Goldsmith techniques and genuine, solid precious metals, so therefore you can wear *some of your Porsha Bella pieces whilst swimming, showering and washing.  These activities shouldn’t damage or discolour the precious metals.  I never take my jewellery off.  However, you may need to polish your jewellery a little more frequently if you want that shiny, brand new look.  If you treat your Porsha Bella creation, like the treasure of history it is, you should have an heirloom piece that will stand the test of time.  If you have any concerns about how to care for this piece, then please reach out to me and I can help you with tips on getting a long and happy wear life out of it.
