A Tiny Piece of Dior

There is something particularly lovely about this little bracelet because the Dior button has a very specific history.

This petite black Dior button was originally a cuff button from a Dior blouse dating from the mid 1980s.

It was a tiny detail on a much larger garment, but I think that makes its new life as jewellery even more charming.

Made from metal with black enamel and elegant gold Dior lettering, the button has been set into solid sterling silver and transformed into a delicate little Dior charm.

From Cuff Button to Charm

Rather than hiding away in a vintage collection, this original Dior cuff button can now be worn every day.

I have paired it with faceted Swarovski crystal beads, in a soft grey, which bring a beautiful soft shimmer to the bracelet. The crystals catch the light as you move, while the petite Dior button provides that little flash of fashion history.

It is small, but it has presence.

Made to Stay With You

Unlike a removable charm, this Dior button is permanently attached to the bracelet.

It sits close to the wrist with a really short drop, making it particularly easy to wear throughout the day.

It does not demand attention, but it does capture it.

Someone might notice the little black and gold button as your wrist moves and lean in for a closer look. And that is when the story begins.

I love that this was never intended to be jewellery.

It was a tiny functional detail on a Dior blouse in the 1980s. Decades later, it has become something completely different.
