“Roxane” Vintage Mint Prada Tag Earring.

Provenance

When my Parisian antique and vintage button collector first asked if I might be interested in Prada handbag tags, I hesitated. I wasn’t entirely sure what I would create with them. But curiosity won, and I asked her to include a selection in my next shipment. As soon as I held them in my hands, the design ideas began to flow.

This particular Prada tag comes from an original Prada handbag from the 1980s, which means it is now officially a vintage treasure.

The Tag

The Prada logo carries a sense of heritage, strength and quiet authority. Its roots lie in the Italian royal family, which gave the brand an early air of aristocracy. Over time, Prada became known for its refined craftsmanship, its intelligence in design and its love of the unconventional. This tag captures all of that history in one small, compelling emblem.

The Earrings

The inspiration for this design came from a recent Prada fragrance campaign, where Emma Watson wears a single mint green Prada tag in her left ear. It felt daring, feminine and modern. I loved the idea, so I used it as a springboard for my own interpretation.

I decided to create a dramatic single drop earring using the vintage tag, paired with a simple solid Sterling Silver ball stud for the opposite ear. Together, they create a striking asymmetrical look that feels effortlessly confident and beautifully unconventional.

These earrings are crafted to turn heads gently but unmistakably. They celebrate individuality, vintage luxury and a touch of rebellion. Designed and hand finished in my French atelier, this one of a kind pairing brings together heritage Prada and contemporary jewellery artistry in a completely original way.

While the jewellery itself is professionally handcrafted from solid precious metals using traditional goldsmith techniques, designed to last a lifetime, the historic buttons, pearls, and crystals within these designs are inherently more fragile. Their age and patina are what make them so special.
To preserve your piece, please avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals, perfume, or impact. Treat it gently, and it will bring you many years of beauty and admiration.
