Do you or someone you love, have a passion for musical instruments? Perhaps you or they play, or are simply an enthusiast. Wouldn’t this pendant be a unique and lovely way to celebrate this passion?
I did some research on this button, because it is unlike any other I’ve even seen. From what I have discovered, it was made in France around the early 1800’s, to depict the French Renaissance period. The button is made from brass and has been oxidised on the front to really make the instruments stand out. The attention to detail in this button is just so incredible. The pictures do not do it justice. It’s like a work of art in itself. The intricate details in the Lyre, Lute and Viola are remarkable.
In keeping with the age and style of the button, I have set it with an ornate Sterling silver claw/crown setting with a polished brass back. I love the way the claw setting allows the polished brass sides of the button to shine through.
To add a little sparkle, I have bezel set a small lab created blue diamond in the bale. It’s simple, but it compliments the button without taking away from it. I felt that a black velvet choker was the best way to display such an amazing button. The ends of the choker are also Sterling Silver and allow for adjustments to fit most neck sizes.
This really is a one of a kind. You will not find another like it.
The pendant measures:-
36.5mm, 1.4’ in diameter.
47mm, 1.8” total drop.
Choker length varies from 320mm to 360mm, 12.59” to 14.17”.
