Can you believe that Venice played a roll in these beautiful buttons being made?
These buttons were the feature on the rear pocket of the first fashion house’s trousers for women. During a trip to Venice, Coco Chanel found it impossible to gracefully get in and out of gondolas whilst wearing a dress or skirt. She watched men do this with ease and decided it was time to design ladies trousers. That was in the 1920’s, after the end of WW1, when fashion houses were trying to bring colour and life back into haute couture fashion.
I felt this shade of pink with the gold tone Chanel logo, needed something more than just solid sterling silver, so I have added 4 little 9ct yellow gold balls as accents around the setting.
These earrings are so feminine and easy to wear day and night. Suitable to be dressed up or just as comfortable for a casual day out, you’ll soon find these little gems becoming your go to earring.
